Reading the Constitution in the Lower East Side

My Daily Constitution requests your presence at: Reading the Constitution in the Lower East Side

On October 23rd and 24th 2010, step up to the microphone and help read the U.S. Constitution at My Daily Constitution’s public read aloud. This two-day Constitution Marathon is designed to foster engagement and exchange, as we break for questions and comments live, in real time. Lawyers and constitutional scholars will be on hand to share insights and answer our questions, and musical guests will chime in to create the perfect pitch.
This stop-and-go event allows for intermittent conversations about our constitutional democracy with lawyers and scholars, and musical performances. Our team of Constitutional interpreters includes Professor Susan Herman, Melissa Goodman, Professor Joseph Landau, Alexander Abdo, Arshad Majid, and Adam Davids. Musical guests include Howard Fishman, Jon Sobel, Greenpoint Terminal Market and Dave Mandl on Saturday, and Amanda Thorpe, 3 Teens Kill 4, Goddess, and Admiral Pork Brain on Sunday.

The reading of the Preamble and Articles starts on Saturday at National Underground and picks up on Sunday at the Living Room. And don't forget to grab your copy of the Constitution, handed out free.

Free admission. All ages welcome.
