Pratt Drawing Democracies on Saturday, October 19th, 11:30am – 7pm
The Fine Arts, Foundation, and Art & Design Education departments, along with The Drawing Club have initiated a Drawing Democracies day that will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2013 on and around Pratt’s Brooklyn campus. Drawing Democracies is an interdisciplinary collaborative project designed to engage our students, faculty, staff, and the broader community in Brooklyn. We are inviting all departments to help us celebrate our common interest in drawing. When we consider that our handwriting, drawn maps, and doodles constitute a form of expression, then everyone draws. Drawing is that viable tool that deepens our sense of community and identity.
Multiple departments at Pratt Institute were invited to join in to mark this day of interdisciplinary and community collaboration, with a goal of making this an annual event. External partners participating are: The Drawing Center in Soho and Art21, featured on PBS.

"Drawings by the People" on Pratt’s Brooklyn campus, is an exhibition for the Drawing Democracies event.
